Drilling Foam is a special mixture containing synthetic-based foaming agents, stabilizers, preservatives and some other auxiliary chemicals. It can be applied between 0.5-1%. It has no harmful effects on the environment as it has a neutral pH and can be biodegraded. It has high expansion feature in Water Drilling Wells applications where drilling is done with air system. It does not harm the skin in any way during operation, it is washed with water. It creates a carrier foam like shaving foam that expands and is stable. Compatible with all water-based drilling fluids. It is environmentally friendly and biodegradable. It reduces the need for air and allows deeper drilling. It reduces the adhesion of soft clays to each other. It helps to clean the well and increases the feed rate. Light Foam Drilling; The foam is mixed with 0.1 - 0.5% water (2.5 - 4 liters per 1 ton of water) and injected into the air stream. The amount of injection depends on the diameter of the well, the compressor power and the water flow rate. Sparkling Drilling; If the water flow is high and the compressor limits have been reached, Super-foam injection may be required up to 0.5-1% by volume (10 liters per 1 ton of water). As a starting point, 50 – 100 liters per hour can be injected into the air stream.
